CCIS Basel: SlowSound & Conscious Listening

The CCIS Basel Chapter is launching a new series of events dedicated to the local community, with the first event scheduled for June 23 at the restaurant Zum Rebhaus in Basel, from 18:30 to 21:00.

The evening will be dedicated to "SlowSound & Conscious Listening", an experience that explores the value of mindful listening and the role of sound in quality of life, concentration, and human relationships.
The special guest of the evening will be Igor Fiorini, founder of the SlowSound movement, who will join from Rome to lead an interactive and inspirational conversation on the topic.

The evening will feature the participation of Igor Fiorini, a sound researcher and cultural thinker whose work integrates acoustic science, perceptual analysis, and reflection on listening. His research proposes a new paradigm: sound is not only a physical phenomenon, but a cultural, cognitive, and deeply human experience.

Igor Fiorini is the founder of the Slow Sound Academy and creator of the MANS system (Measurement Audio Natural Sound). His interdisciplinary research explores the relationship between acoustic measurement, perceptual awareness, and sound culture, promoting listening as a conscious and formative act.<

During the event, Fiorini will introduce:
- the epistemological foundations of Slow Sound
- the “planetary” pedagogical model of sound knowledge
- the MANS method, which connects measurement and perception, science and experience

This event marks the conceptual beginning of a curated series of events that will take shape starting in autumn 2026.
